HOW DO CONTOUR THREADS™ WORK?

Unlike conventional sutures which are smooth, Contour Threads™ have tiny barbs or cogs, that are spaced evenly apart. Once inserted under the skin, they are fixated in an umbrella-like fashion and with tension creates suspension that gently lifts sagging tissues of the brow, face and neck. Due to the unique design of the cogs of Contour Threads™, the surrounding tissues act to hold the threads in place without the need for visible scars. The cogs do the work of holding, by being fixated to tissue as they are softly contoured into place. Once in position, your body generates new collagen bundles that surround each thread to maintain the lifting effect. The exact placement of the threads will vary from patient to patient. Unlike other thread products, Contour Threads™ are clear in appearance so they are not visible under fair or thin skin.

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR THE CONTOUR THREADS™ LIFT?
Individuals who are starting to see some droopiness of the brow, cheeks, jowls and/or neck and would like to see a lift effect, but, do not want the risk, scars, discomfort or recovery time required of a brow/face/neck lift operation. Good candidates must have realistic expectations, good general health, and be prepared to follow the postoperative recovery protocol.

HOW LONG DOES THE PROCEDURE TAKE?
Treatment time varies with the number of areas of the face which are treated, as well as the number of required Contour Threads™. Average treatment time is 60-90 minutes

HOW LONG IS THE RECOVERY TIME AFTER A CONTOUR THREADS™ LIFT PROCEDURE?
In most cases, there is minimal discomfort, bruising and swelling. Patients can usually return to work or normal activities in 3-7 days.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
Usually only one procedure is needed to achieve the desired lifting effect

HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST?
Duration varies depending on the age of the patient at the time of the procedure, the degree of sagging, and the number of threads used. Additional threads may be added as required

CAN CONTOUR THREADS™ BE USED WITH OTHER COSMETIC PROCEDURES?
Contour Threads™ may be combined with other cosmetic procedures such as Botox Cosmetic®, dermal fillers (Restylane®, Perlane™ or Juvederm™ ) to enhance volume, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, MicroLaserPeel™, or skin resurfacing

WILL I STILL BE ABLE TO HAVE A CONVENTIONAL/TRADITIONAL FACE LIFT, NECK LIFT OR BROW LIFT AT A LATER TIME IF I HAVE TREATMENT WITH CONTOUR THREADS™?
Yes, other surgical procedures may be used after the Contour Threads™ procedure. Furthermore, patients who have already had surgical procedures such as a conventional surgical facelift, may subsequently have a Contour Threads™ lift
