PHOTOREJUVENATION
Enhanced laser skin rejuvenation treatment is a gentle, effective way to minimize the effects of aging and sun damage, and to give your skin a more youthful appearance. It can help reduce facial wrinkles and fine lines, treat age spots and brown pigmentation, improve the appearance of rosacea, and fine blood vessels, and reduce pore size.
This procedure may be combined with other procedures, such as microdermabrasion/dermaphoresis or photodynamic therapy (PDT).
What parts of the body can be treated?
This treatment is appropriate for the face as well as anywhere that sun damage shows, including the chest, neck and hands. Prior to any treatment, you are advised to meet with a physician to discuss and understand your particular needs and the potential risks and benefits of laser treatment.
What does photorejuvenation treatment involve?
During this non-ablative, non-abrasive procedure, laser or pulsed light is used to correct pigmentation irregularities and stimulate new collagen growth in the skin to reduce the appearance of fine facial wrinkles. The surface of the skin is not damaged or removed. A thin layer of cool gel is applied to the treatment area before the procedure begins. When the light energy is applied, you may feel a warm pulse-like sensation against your skin; this may cause minimal discomfort.
How long does the treatment take?
Each session takes about 30 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area. Since individual skin types and conditions vary, you may require between three and eight treatments. Our trained medical staff at CARLING LASER CLINIC can discuss a customized treatment plan that will help you obtain the results you desire.
What can I expect after treatment?
This fast, effective treatment can be performed during your lunch hour. Makeup can be applied immediately afterwards, and you may resume normal activities. Effects of the procedure may include slight redness or mild swelling for a few hours (or, rarely, up to a few days). Dark pigments and freckles may get darker and then flake off the skin in a few days' time.
For wrinkle improvement, you may see results at the time of your third treatment (nine to 12 weeks after initial treatment) because new collagen growth, though encouraged by the lasers, is gradual.
