Growing Uses of Botox® in Ottawa

Cosmetic Uses

Botox® has been in cosmetic use since it was approved in 2001 by Health Canada for treatment of frown lines.  Since then, Dr. Daniel uses Botox in Ottawa  to correct many other cosmetic conditions.  In particular, Ottawa clients who smoke have welcomed the ability to smooth the smoker’s lines that form vertically on the upper and lower lip.

Dr. Daniel’s expertise in Botox® injections allows him to use Botox® in more refined ways:
Botox® can smooth chin dimples.
Botox® can lift the brow and shape eyebrows.
Botox® can improve the shape of the eye.
Botox® can shape the jaw muscles to improve facial contours and create a symmetrical look.

Medical Uses

Botox® to Treat Back Pain

Botox® is gaining popularity as a welcome alternative in treatment of lower back pain.  Unlike some other pain treatments, Botox® does not have systemic [throughout the body] side effects.

Botox® for Treatment of Migraine and Tension Headaches

Botox® has been demonstrated to relieve the strength and frequency of migraine headaches for three to four months following treatment.  Studies are also testing the effectiveness of Botox® for relief of chronic tension headaches.

Please note that with the exception of Botox for hyperhidrosis Dr Daniel does not perform Botox for medical purposes.
